충남 태안군이 주민등록 인구 수 대비 도시 활력도가 높은 지자체로 주목받고 있다.
최근 행정안전부와 통계청이 발표한 2024년 3분기 '생활인구' 자료에 따르면, 태안군의 체류인구 수는 7월 48만 1307명, 8월 71만 1851명, 9월 63만 3609명으로, 총 182만 6767명에 달해 전국 89개 인구감소지역 중 4위를 기록했다. 이는 태안을 찾는 관광객과 업무 목적의 방문자가 많다는 것을 의미한다.
