브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 국민의힘은 헌법재판소가 윤석열 대통령에 대한 탄핵심판 선고기일을 오는 4일로 지정한데 대해 "상식과 정의, 헌법 정신에 따른 결정을 내려줄 것을 기대한다"고 밝혔다.
신동욱 국민의힘 수석대변인은 이날 논평을 통해 "이번 탄핵심판은 자유민주주의의 토대 위에 세워진 헌정 질서와 법치주의의 근간을 확인하는 역사적 분기점"이라고 말했다.
신 대변인은 "국정의 안정을 뒤흔들고 정치적 목적을 위해 헌법 위에 군림하려는 시도에 대해, 이제 헌법의 이름으로 정의가 답할 시간"이라며 "국민은 지켜보고 있다"면서 "법과 상식이 무너지는 일이 없도록, 국민이 간절히 바라는 그 희망이 저버려지는 일이 없도록 헌재는 역사 앞에, 국민 앞에 답해야 한다"고 강조했다.
이어 "이제 여야 모두 헌재의 시간을 차분하게 기다리며, 어떠한 결정이 나오더라도 대한민국의 미래를 위해 헌재의 결정에 승복해야 할 것"이라며 "대한민국의 운명을 가를 이 결정이 ‘진정한 정의와 법치’의 이름으로 내려지길 바란다"고 했다.
그러면서 "헌재가 상식과 정의, 그리고 헌법 정신에 따른 결정을 내려줄 것을 기대한다"고 덧붙였다.
