전북 군산해경이 불법조업 외국 어선 특별단속에 돌입한 가운데 중국 어선을 검문해 6장의 경고장을 발부했다.
이번 특별단속은 봄철 성어기와 중국 자체 하계 휴어기(5월1일∼9월16일)를 앞두고 우리 수역 내 중국 어선의 무분별한 집중 조업에 대비하기 위한 차원이다.
군산해양경찰서는 단속 첫날인 지난 2일 0시부터 불법조업 외국 어선 특별단속을 실시해 쌍타망(쌍끌이)과 유망 어선 등 14척의 중국 어선을 검문하는 과정에 일부 경미한 위반 사항이 발견돼 경고장을 발부했다고 3일 밝혔다.
이번 경고장은 조업일지를 잘못 적거나 소량의 조업 어획물을 일지에 기록하지 않은 것으로 확인돼 발부됐다.
박상욱 서장은 "이번 특별단속은 한ㆍ중 어업협정 해상에 허가된 중국 어선이 5월 1일부터 일부 휴어기에 들어감에 따라, 막바지 많은 어획량을 노린 불법조업 가능성이 높아 서해청 관내 군산ㆍ목포 등 5개 해경서가 동시에 투입한다"고 말했다.
