브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 국민의힘은 7일 "서울중앙지법이 대장동 재판의 주요 증인인 이재명 더불어민주당 대표를 더 이상 소환하지 않기로 했다"면서 "권력 눈치 게임이 시작됐다"고 일갈했다.
이준우 국민의힘 대변인은 이날 논평을 통해 "무려 5번 연속 불출석하고, 두 번이나 과태료가 부과된 이 대표에게 법원이 엄중한 조치를 하기보다 기다렸다는 듯 무릎을 꿇은 것"이라며 "이는 일반 증인에게는 상상도 할 수 없는 특혜"라고 비판했다.
이어 "법은 '이재명 뺀' 나머지 국민 앞에 평등하다는 것이냐"고 반문하며 "이재명 대표가 법 위에 군림하고 사법절차를 조롱해도, 법원이 순한 양처럼 나오는 태도에 국민은 참담함을 넘어 분노를 금할 수 없다"고 주장했다.
이 대변인은 또한 "이 대표는 그동안 '무죄추정의 원칙'과 '법대로 하자'를 강조해 왔지만, 정작 법의 판단이 자신에게 향하자 '법대로'가 아닌 '이재명대로'를 선택했다"며 "이는 공동체 사회를 지탱하는 법치주의를 뿌리부터 흔드는 중대한 사회적 위협"이라고 말했다.
그러면서 "이 대표는 더 이상 국민을 기만하지 말아야 하며, 정치인의 사법 절차 불복은 국민으로부터 선택받을 자격을 상실하는 일임을 알아야 한다. 대한민국은 이 대표의 치외법권 지역이 아니다"라고 덧붙였다.
