계룡시, 지식산업센터 중앙투자심사 최종 통과

충남 계룡시가 민선 8기 핵심 공약인 ‘공공임대형 지식산업센터 건립사업’을 본격화하며 2029년 준공을 목표로 순조롭게 추진 중이라고 8일 밝혔다.

해당 사업은 지난해 4월 중소벤처기업부의 타당성 평가를 통과한 데 이어, 최근 행정안전부의 지방재정 중앙투자심사를 최종 통과하며 사업 추진의 주요 관문을 넘었다. 이에 따라 국비 10억 원이 올해 기본 및 실시설계 예산으로 확보됐다.

이번 지식산업센터는 창업 초기 기업과 벤처기업에 안정적인 공간을 제공하는 동시에, 다양한 맞춤형 기업 지원 서비스를 통해 지역 전략산업을 육성하고 지속가능한 일자리를 창출하기 위한 기반시설이다.

시는 계룡제2산업단지 내 4,883㎡ 부지에 지하 1층, 지상 5층 규모(연면적 10,308㎡)의 센터를 조성할 계획이며, 총 사업비는 국비 160억 원, 지방비 132억 원 등 총 292억 원이 투입된다.

이번 산업센터가 완공되면 군수물자 제조업과 국방 분야 연구개발(R&D) 기업을 적극 유치해, 계룡시를 전력지원체계 중심의 국방 신산업 거점으로 도약시키는 데 중추적 역할을 할 것으로 기대하고 있다.

이응우 계룡시장은 “지식산업센터는 전국의 국방 스타트업에 새로운 기회를 제공하는 플랫폼이 될 것”이라며 “계룡을 기반으로 한 신생 기업들이 성장할 수 있도록 행정적·재정적 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 계룡시는 이번 산업센터 건립 외에도 ▲K-국방컨벤션센터 설립 ▲지능형 센서 시험인증기관 유치 ▲국립군사(미래)박물관 조성 등 국방 특화 신성장 동력 확보를 위한 다양한 사업을 함께 추진 중이다.
