[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 ‘시민 삶 속에서 자연스럽게 퍼져나가는 인구정책으로 도시를 하나의 흐름으로 연결한다’는 관점으로 올해 4대 추진전략 321개 인구정책 과제를 추진한다.
시는 저출생과 수도권 집중화로 인한 인구감소 위기 대응을 위해 지난해 7월 조직개편에서 ‘인구청년정책관’을 신설하고 올해부터 본격적으로 정책을 추진 중이다.
2024년 말 기준 김해시 인구는 2023년 대비 6,722명이 늘어난 56만1,806명이나 내국인은 1,983명 감소하고 외국인이 8,705명 늘어난 결과다.
시는 안정적인 주택 공급과 출산·돌봄 지원, 정주여건 개선 등 종합적인 인구정책을 추진 중이지만 20대 청년층 수도권 전출 등으로 내국인은 감소 추세다.
이에 시는 내국인 중심의 단기·일회성 경제적 지원에 맞춘 기존 정책에서 지속 가능한 인프라 구축, 인식 개선 등 전반적인 환경 변화를 통해 내·외국인 모두 잘살 수 있는 중장기적 정책에 초점을 두고 저출생 극복과 청년세대 인구 유출로 인한 위기에 적극 대응하기로 했다.
이러한 인구정책 방향에 맞춰 시는 올해 △따뜻한 응원·지지 육아 가족 희망도시 전반 확산 △젊음이 주도하는 청년 친화도시 조성 △매력있고 행복한 도시 조성으로 생활인구 유입과 정착 △인구구조 변화 대응으로 통합된 미래 준비를 4대 추진전략으로 수립했다.
또 시는 4대 추진전략과 함께 인구문제 인식 개선과 사회 분위기 조성이 무엇보다 중요하다고 보고 마음을 잇는 공감사업을 적극 추진한다.
저출생, 고령화에 대한 사회적 관심 제고를 위해 ‘인구정책 숏폼 공모전’, 청춘 미혼 남녀간의 만남 기회 제공 행사 ‘나는 김해 솔로’, 함께 육아 동참 ‘김해 40인의 아빠단’, 맞춤형 인구교육 등 일상생활 속에 깊이 녹아들어 실질적인 변화로 이어질 수 있는 다양한 인구정책 사업을 펼친다.
더불어 매월 인구통계를 보다 쉽게 접근할 수 있도록 시민들이 많이 오고가는 지역내 대형전광판에 인구상황판을 송출하고 인구문제 관심도와 공감대를 형성하고 있다.
