충남교육청, 유치원 교육환경 개선에 14억 원 투입

충청남도교육청이 유아들의 안전하고 쾌적한 교육환경 조성을 위해 도내 114개 공·사립유치원을 대상으로 총 14억 원 규모의 교육환경 개선비를 지원했다.

9일 충남교육청에 따르면 이번 사업은 유치원 교육 공간의 실질적인 개선을 통해 유아들이 보다 나은 환경에서 교육받을 수 있도록 하기 위해 마련됐다. 지원 분야는 ▲교실 및 실외 놀이공간 개선 ▲노후 화장실 및 바닥 수선 ▲실외 놀이터 보수 ▲누수 및 기타 안전 문제 해결 등으로, 각 유치원의 특성과 지역 여건을 고려해 맞춤형으로 진행됐다.

이번 지원은 지역별 우선순위 신청을 받은 뒤 심의 과정을 거쳐 최종 결정됐으며, 주요 내역은 다음과 같다. 

신설 유치원 2곳에는 총 1억 원이, 교실 수업 공간 및 놀이시설 개선에는 14개 유치원에 4억 원이 지원됐다. 또, 노후 화장실과 교실 바닥 수선에는 50개 유치원에 약 4억 9,880만 원, 실외 놀이터 보수에는 7개 유치원에 6,760만 원이 각각 투입됐다. 이외에도 누수 보수 관련 예산 1억 9,854만 원(20개 원), 기타 안전 관련 수선비로 2억 96만 원(21개 원)이 지원됐다.

양은주 유아교육복지과장 역시 “유아 교육의 질을 높이기 위해선 안전이 최우선”이라면서 "앞으로도 현장 목소리를 반영한 맞춤형 교육환경 개선을 지속 추진해 쾌적하고 안전한 유아 놀이 환경을 조성하겠다"고 강조했다.
