충남 서천군은 경북 등 영남권에서 발생한 대형 산불로 피해를 입은 주민들을 돕기 위해 특별성금 1262만 원을 사회복지공동모금회에 기탁했다고 10일 밝혔다.
이번 성금은 서천군 소속 공무원들이 자발적으로 참여해 모은 것으로, 예상치 못한 재난으로 생계 터전을 잃은 이재민들에게 조금이나마 힘이 되기를 바라는 뜻이 담겼다.
서천군은 과거 자역 내 전통시장에서 발생한 화재 피해를 겪은 경험이 있는 만큼, 산불로 인한 상실과 혼란을 누구보다 실감하며, 이웃의 아픔에 진심 어린 위로를 보냈다.
