레미콘 제조업체 유진기업과 시멘트 제조업체 동양이 ‘우중 콘크리트’ 개발로 건설 혁명을 예고했다.
유진그룹 계열사인 유진기업과 동양이 궂은 날씨에도 안정적인 콘크리트 타설 작업을 가능하게 하는 혁신 신제품, ‘우중 콘크리트’를 공동으로 개발해 출시했다고 8일 밝혔다.
이번에 선보인 '우중 콘크리트'는 제조 과정에서 특별한 화학 혼화제를 적용, 콘크리트 타설 시 시멘트의 재료 분리 저항성을 획기적으로 향상시킨 것이 핵심 기술이다.
기존 국토교통부 콘크리트 표준시방서에 따르면 시간당 강우량이 3mm 이하일 경우에만 제한적으로 콘크리트 타설이 허용되며, 이때조차 빗물 유입 방지를 위한 천막 설치 등의 추가적인 조치가 필수적이었다.
하지만 유진기업과 동양이 공동 개발한 '우중 콘크리트'는 이러한 건설 현장의 불편함을 획기적으로 해소할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 이 제품은 빗물이 콘크리트에 유입되더라도 시간당 최대 6mm의 강우량까지 레미콘 품질을 안정적으로 유지할 수 있으며, 기존 콘크리트 배합과 유사한 수준의 압축 강도를 확보했다.
특히 주목할 점은 우천 시 거푸집 내부에 고인 빗물에 대한 대응 능력이다. '우중 콘크리트'는 타설 시 빗물을 외부로 밀어내면서 거푸집을 효과적으로 채워, 콘크리트의 품질 저하를 유발하는 재료 분리 현상을 탁월하게 방지할 수 있다는 장점을 가진다.
유진기업과 동양은 이번 '우중 콘크리트' 출시를 통해 날씨에 구애받지 않고 시공성과 품질이 뛰어난 콘크리트를 건설 현장에 공급할 수 있게 되어, 공사 기간 단축 및 전체적인 건설 품질 향상에 크게 기여할 것으로 전망하고 있다.
유진기업 기술연구소 관계자는 "건설 비수기에도 안정적인 레미콘 공급을 위해 지난해 개발한 '내한 콘크리트'에 이어 이번 '우중 콘크리트'를 선보이게 되었다"며, "앞으로도 지속적인 연구 개발 투자를 통해 품질과 경쟁력을 갖춘 다양한 고성능 콘크리트 제품을 시장에 선보일 계획"이라고 밝혔다.

Ready-mix concrete manufacturer Yujin Enterprises and cement manufacturer Dongyang have announced a construction revolution with the development of ‘Rainy Concrete’.
Yujin Corporation and Dongyang, affiliates of Yujin Group, announced on the 8th that they have jointly developed and launched ‘Rainy Concrete,’ an innovative new product that enables stable concrete pouring work even in bad weather.
The core technology of ‘Rainy Concrete’ is the application of a special chemical admixture during the manufacturing process, which dramatically improves the resistance of cement to material separation during concrete pouring.
According to the existing Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport's concrete standard specification, concrete pouring is allowed only when rainfall is 3 mm or less per hour, and even then, additional measures such as installing awnings to prevent rainwater from entering are essential.
However, the ‘Rainy Concrete’ jointly developed by Yujin and Dongyang is expected to dramatically solve the inconvenience of construction sites. Even if rainwater enters the concrete, the product can stably maintain the quality of ready-mixed concrete up to a rainfall of up to 6 mm per hour, and it has secured a compressive strength similar to that of conventional concrete formulations.
Of particular note is its ability to respond to rainwater that accumulates inside the formwork during rainy weather. 'Rain-weighted concrete' has the advantage of effectively filling the formwork while pushing the rainwater to the outside during pouring, thereby preventing material segregation that causes concrete quality degradation.
With the launch of ‘Rainy Concrete’, Yujin Enterprises and Dongyang will be able to supply concrete with excellent constructability and quality to construction sites regardless of the weather, which is expected to significantly contribute to shortening the construction period and improving overall construction quality.
"We are introducing 'Rainy Concrete' following the 'Cold-resistant Concrete' we developed last year to ensure stable supply of ready-mixed concrete even during the construction off-season," said an official from Yujin Enterprises' R&D Center. "We plan to introduce various high-performance concrete products with high quality and competitiveness to the market through continuous research and development investments."
