브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 홍준표 전 대구시장이 14일 "국회에 이어 대통령까지 (이재명 더불어민주당 대표에) 내준다면 이 나라는 히틀러의 나라가 될 것"이라며 제21대 대통령 선거 출마를 공식 선언했다.
홍준표 전 시장은 이날 오후 서울 여의도 대하빌딩 선거캠프에서 "이번 대선을 통해 낡은 6공화 운동권 세력이 벌이는 광란의 국회 폭거를 중단시켜야 한다. 이 싸움의 맨 앞에 저 홍준표가 있다"며 이같이 밝혔다.
그는 "이번 대선으로 나라의 운명이 완전히 달라진다"며 "이번 대선은 정권 교체냐, 정권 연장이냐의 문제가 아니라 바로 홍준표 정권이냐, 이재명 정권이냐의 양자택일 선거"라고 강조했다.
이어 "이재명 정권의 종착역은 포퓰리즘과 국민 매수의 나라, 남미 최빈국 베네수엘라다. 홍준표 정권의 미래는 자유와 번영의 선진대국이 될 것"이라며 "화려한 전과자 이재명 후보와 풍부한 경륜과 검증된 능력을 갖춘 준비된 대통령, 홍준표 후보의 대결이 이번 선거의 본질"이라고 주장했다.
홍 전 시장은 또한 "이제는 찬탄·반탄(탄핵 찬성·반대)에 얽매일 것이 아니라 대선 승리를 위해, 새로운 나라를 세우기 위해 모두가 한마음으로 뭉쳐야 한다"면ㅅ서 "계엄 사태가 탄핵으로 정리된 만큼, 이재명 후보를 심판하고 사법 심판대에 세워야 한다"고 강조했다.
그는 아울러 "명운을 건 대회전(大會戰)에는 가장 준비되고 경험이 많은 든든한 장수를 내보내야 한다"며 "준비가 부족하고 검증이 안 된 정치 초보를 선택했다가 우리는 너무나 큰 고통을 경험하고 있다"고 지적했다.
그러면서 "홍준표와 함께 승리하고 선진대국의 번영과 풍요를 함께 누리자. 완전히 달라진 나라, 전혀 새로운 나라의 재조산하(再造山河)를 위해 헌신하겠다"고 다짐했다.
