거창군은 14일 2025년도 신규 공중보건의사 4명에게 임용장을 수여했다.
이번에 새로 배치된 공중보건의사는 의과 3명, 한의과 1명으로 보건소와 보건지소에 배치되어 지역주민들을 위한 진료 및 보건사업 수행 등의 역할을 하게 된다.
올해 공중보건의사 8명이 복무가 만료되었으나, 이번에 4명만 새로 배치됨에 따라 의료 인력 공백으로 인한 주민 불편이 일부 예상되어 군은 권역별 순회진료 체계로 공중보건의사 수 감소에 대응해 주민 불편을 최소화할 예정이다.
거창읍을 제외한 11개 면 지역은 △주상·웅양·고제 권역 △북상·위천·마리 권역 △남상·신원 권역 △남하·가조·가북 권역 등 4개 권역으로 나눠 보건지소 순회진료를 실시하며, 병·의원 접근이 어려운 주민과 고혈압, 당뇨 등 만성질환자를 대상으로 진료 및 투약을 지원할 예정이다.
한편, 거창군에는 보건기관에 배치된 공보의 12명 외에도, 거창적십자병원에 3명, 거창군립노인요양병원에 1명의 공중보건의사가 근무하고 있다.
