세종시가 제21대 대통령선거를 앞두고 지역 핵심 사업을 대선공약에 반영해 도시 성장동력 확보에 나선다.
김하균 세종특별자치시 행정부시장은 15일 열린 간부회의에서 “세종의 미래를 좌우할 주요 현안이 대선공약에 실질적으로 반영돼야 한다”며, 정책 구체화와 행정수도 완성 의지를 강조했다.
김 부시장은 이날 시청 대회의실에서 열린 간부회의에서 “지금은 대선공약이라는 큰 틀 속에 세종시의 성장 비전을 구체적으로 채워나가야 할 시점”이라며 “총론적인 공약 구상에 머물지 말고, 세종시가 선도할 수 있는 정책 조감도를 설계해 각 정당의 공약으로 정착시키는 작업이 필요하다”고 밝혔다.
특히 세종시가 역점적으로 추진 중인 ‘메가 싱크탱크 구축’, ‘충청권 첨단산업벨트 조성’ 등 핵심 사업들을 언급하며, “실국별로 구체적이고 현실적인 사업계획을 조속히 마련해, 대선 이후 실행 가능한 공약이 되도록 해야 한다”고 주문했다.
시는 앞서 지난 14일, 행정수도 완성 및 국가균형발전 전략을 포함한 26개 정책과제를 발굴해 각 정당 세종시당에 전달하고, 공약 반영을 공식 건의한 바 있다.
김 부시장은 이어 “당분간 재정 상황이 녹록지 않을 것으로 예상된다”며, 사업 구조조정을 포함한 재정 효율화의 필요성도 함께 언급했다.
