브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 신동욱 국민의힘 수석대변인은 16일 세월호 참사 11주기를 맞아 "11년 전, 시리고 아팠던 그날의 봄을 기억한다"라고 말했다.
신 수석대변인은 이날 논평을 통해 "사랑하는 사람의 곁을 떠나 이제는 별이 된 304명의 희생자분들의 영면을 기원한다. 여전히 슬픔의 무게를 짊어지고 있는 유가족과 생존자에게 깊은 위로를 전한다"며 이같이 밝혔다.
그는 "지난 2월에는 유가족의 염원이었던 ‘4.16 생명안전공원’ 착공식이 열렸다. 그날의 아픔과 교훈을 잊지 않기 위한 노력은 계속된다"면서 "국민의 생명과 안전보다 중요한 것은 없다"고 강조했다.
이어 "국민의힘은 가슴 아팠던 그날을 기억하며, 더 안전한 대한민국을 만들기 위해 혼신의 힘을 다하겠다"고 말했다.
그러면서 "세월호 참사 11주기를 추모하며, 다시 한 번 희생자들의 영면을 기원한다"고 덧붙였다.
