거창3.1정신계승발전위원회(위원장 박완묵)는 지난 16일 오후 2시, 거창박물관 별관 2층 전시실에서 ‘제23회 거창3.1민속문화제 전시회’ 기념식을 개최했다고 17일 밝혔다.
이번 전시회는 3.1운동의 역사적 의미를 되새기고 그 정신을 계승하기 위한 문화 행사로, 그동안 가조면을 중심으로 진행되었던 행사를 올해 처음으로 거창읍에서 개최했다.
기념식에는 이재운 거창군의회 의장, 박수자 군의원, 김지현 경남서부보훈지청장, 박형인 광복회 경남지부장, 안철우 거창문화원장 및 독립운동 유공자 유족, 기관단체장 등 50여 명이 참석해 자리를 빛냈다.
전시회에는 애국지사 유묵 및 독립운동과 관련한 자료, 가조초등학교 및 가북초등학교 학생들의 태극기 그리기 대회 입상작, 어린이백일장 입상작, 군민들의 애국심을 표현한 서예 작품들이 전시된다.
또한, 일제강점기 사료와 3.1만세운동 당시의 태극기 등도 함께 전시되어, 전 세대가 함께 역사를 배우고 민족 정체성을 되새기는 소중한 계기가 될 것으로 기대된다.
