충남 당진시가 대형 산불로 큰 피해를 입은 경북 영양군을 돕기 위해 따뜻한 마음을 모았다.
당진시는 지난 4월 18일, 영양군청에서 열린 기탁식을 통해 총 1억 118만 4000원의 성금을 전달했다. 이 자리에는 오성환 당진시장이 직접 참석해 성금을 전달하며, 피해 복구와 이재민 지원에 대한 당진시민의 진심 어린 위로를 전했다.
이번 성금은 산불 피해 직후부터 당진시청 직원, 관내 기업, 단체, 그리고 시민들이 자발적으로 동참하며 마련된 것이다.
기탁금은 각계각층에서 참여한 다양한 주체들의 정성을 담았고, 당진도시공사, 당진시농협, 여러 마을회 및 새마을지도자 부녀회 등 지역 공동체가 폭넓게 동참해 따뜻한 지역 연대의 의미를 더했다.
당진시는 이번 기탁 외에도 오는 4월 30일까지 산불 피해 지원을 위한 특별 모금을 이어가며, 추가 지원을 검토 중이다.
오성환 시장은 “갑작스러운 재해로 어려움을 겪고 있는 영양군민들에게 당진시민의 정성이 조금이나마 위로가 되길 바란다”며, “지역 간의 연대와 협력이야말로 위기를 극복하는 가장 큰 힘”이라고 강조했다.
이어 “앞으로도 당진시는 이웃 도시의 아픔에 공감하며, 지속적인 나눔과 상생을 실천해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
