브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 신동욱 국민의힘 수석대변인은 21일 "더불어민주당의 대선 경선은 더 이상 경선이라 부를 수 없다"면서 "그토록 외쳐온 '민주주의'는 이제 껍데기만 남았다"고 일갈했다.
신 대변인은 이날 논평을 통해 "충청과 영남에서 이재명 후보는 90%에 가까운 득표율을 기록했다. 그저 '이재명 찬양식'으로 변질된 경선 앞에 국민은 허탈함을 느낀다"고 지적했다.
이어 "이 압도적 득표율은 '민주당의 퇴행'을 보여주는 것이며, 민주당이 얼마나 철저히 무너졌는지를 보여주는 상징적인 수치다. 민주당은 완전히 '이재명당'으로 전락했다"고 밝혔다.

신 대변인은 "이제 거대 의석수에 더해 대통령직까지 움켜쥐겠다는 이재명의 행보는 입법과 행정을 동시에 장악하고, 비판과 견제를 지워내겠다는 선언과 다름없다"면서 "이것이야말로 무소불위의 '독재 권력', '민주주의의 종말'을 예고하는 시나리오"라고 경고했다.
그러면서 "견제받지 않는 권력은 반드시 부패하고 폭주한다"며, "이재명이 진정 두려워해야 할 것은 '정적'이 아니라, 스스로 만들어낸 '괴물 권력'일 것"이라고 강조했다.
