브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 현대자동차그룹이 역세권의 미래 모빌리티 혁신 선도를 위해 한국철도공사(코레일)와 스마트 시티 조성을 위한 협력에 나선다.
현대차그룹은 코레일과 지난 21일 서울 용산구 코레일 스마트역세권사업단에서 현대차그룹 GSO(Global Strategy Office) 김흥수 부사장, 코레일 정정래 부사장 등 양사 임직원이 참석한 가운데 미래 모빌리티 혁신 선도를 위한 업무협약을 체결했다고 22일 밝혔다.
양사는 이번 업무협약을 통해 미래 모빌리티 인프라 구축에 필요한 요소들을 공동 기획하고 자율주행, 수요응답형 모빌리티 등 미래 솔루션에 최적화된 환경과 스마트 시티 전반의 생태계를 조성한다는 계획이다.
현대차그룹은 끊김 없는(Seamless) 이동성을 제공하는 모빌리티 솔루션을 개발하고, 자율주행과 로보틱스를 활용해 사람과 사람을 연결하며, 미래 모빌리티 솔루션에 최적화된 도시 환경 조성과 서비스 도입을 위해 다방면에서 협업을 진행함으로써 인간 중심 스마트 시티 구현을 위해 그룹의 역량을 강화하고 있다.
이번 업무협약은 그룹의 역량과 솔루션을 종합해 스마트 시티를 구현하고자 하는 현대차그룹의 의지와 사람, 세상, 미래를 이어 종합 모빌리티 기업으로 도약하겠다는 한국철도공사의 뜻이 합쳐져 이뤄졌다.
현대차그룹과 코레일은 역세권 개발사업지 등 신규 스마트 시티 사업 추진, 코레일 사업지 내·외부 미래 모빌리티 생태계 조성 등을 협력한다.
현대차그룹은 미래 모빌리티 도입을 위한 인프라 및 솔루션 계획을 지원함으로써 미래 모빌리티 기술이 최적화된 스마트 시티 모델 수립에 협력한다.
코레일은 현대차그룹과의 기술 협력을 통해 한국철도공사의 역세권 개발 지구 등에 모빌리티 중심 스마트 시티를 조성하는 것에 앞장선다.
