브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 검찰이 '건진법사'라 불리는 무속인 전성배씨의 주거지에서 발견된 한국은행 관봉 뭉칫돈의 출처를 추적하고 있는 것으로 파악됐다.
24일 법조계에 따르면 서울남부지검은 지난해 12월 건진법사의 서울 강남 양재동 은신처에서 현금 5만원권 묶음 1억6500만원을 발견해 압수 조치했다.
특히 이중에는 5만원 신권을 비닐로 완전히 밀봉한 5000만원어치 뭉칫돈이 섞여 있었다. 포장 비닐에는 기기번호, 담당자, 책임자, 일련번호와 함께 윤석열 전 대통령 취임 3일 후인 2022년 5월 13일이란 날짜가 찍혀있다.
이에 대해 건진법사는 "기도비로 받았다"고 진술하면서도 누구에게 받은 돈인지는 기억이 안난다고 했다.
한국은행 관봉은 금융기관에서나 유통되는 형태다. 일반적인 은행 지점에서도 이같은 형태로 유통되지 않고, 개인에게 갈 일이 사실상 없다. 검찰은 이같은 관봉을 개인이 보관하고 있었다는 점을 수상히 여겨 이 돈의 출처를 추적하고 있다.
한국은행 측은 윤건영 더불어민주당 의원실의 질의에 "관봉은 발행일자, 책임자, 일련번호로는 출처를 파악할 수 없고, 어느 금융기관으로 나간 것인지 알 수 없다"고 밝힌 것으로 확인됐다.
한편, 검찰은 건진법사의 은신처와 주거지 등을 압수수색하면서 대기업 임원, 정치권 관계자 법조인, 경찰 간부 등의 명함 수백장도 확보한 것으로도 알려졌다.
건진법사는 윤 전 대통령 대선캠프가 차려진 지난 2021년 12월부터 전 통일교 세계본부장 윤모씨로부터 고문료 또는 기도비 명목으로 수억원을 받은 혐의도 받고 있다.
