다만, 축산분뇨 처리를 외부 전문 업체에 위탁한 농가의 경우 이번 검사 대상에서 제외된다.
검사를 원하는 농가는 부숙 상태가 일정하게 혼합된 퇴비 약 500g을 시료 봉투에 담아 밀봉한 뒤, 논산시 농업기술센터 1층에 위치한 친환경농업관리실로 직접 제출하면 된다. 접수 후 약 2주 이내에 검사 결과를 받아볼 수 있다.
