[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 24일 롯데호텔앤리조트 김해에서 경남 유일 5성급 가족호텔 지정 현판식을 가졌다고 밝혔다.
롯데호텔앤리조트 김해 주관으로 열린 현판식에는 홍태용 김해시장을 비롯해 관광산업 관련 초청 내빈들이 참석했다.
롯데호텔앤리조트 김해는 작년 10월에 오픈해 250개의 객실과 식당, 골프연습장, 수영장 등 다양한 부대시설로 구성된 가족형 호텔로, 지난 3월 한국관광협회중앙회로부터 가족호텔 5성급 등급을 획득했다.
5성급 가족호텔은 전국적으로도 12개밖에 없으며, 경남지역에서는 롯데호텔앤리조트 김해가 유일하다.
홍태용 시장은 “이번 5성급 가족호텔 지정으로 김해시 관광산업의 발전 가능성과관광도시 브랜드 가치가 한 단계 상승되었다”며 “지속적인 협력으로 관광 활성화에서 나아가 마이스(MICE)산업의 발전을 통한 지역경제 활성화로 이어지길 기대한다”고 말했다.
한편 김해시와 롯데호텔앤리조트 김해는 올해 들어 관광 활성화를 위한 업무협약 체결, 글로벌도시 관광진흥기구(TPO) 총회 유치 활동 등 본격적인 협업을 추진하고 있다.
