충남 홍성군이 5월 황금연휴를 맞아 가족 단위 관광객 증가에 대비해 남당항 해양분수공원의 음악분수 운영 일정을 유동적으로 조정할 예정이라고 25일 밝혔다.
기존에는 매주 월요일 휴무를 원칙으로 운영하던 음악분수는, 어린이날(5월5일)과 부처님오신날(5월15일)을 포함한 연휴 기간(5월3일~6일) 동안 쉼 없이 가동된다. 특히 이 기간에는 분수 연출 시간을 기존 20분에서 두 배인 40분으로 확대하고, 방문객들이 물놀이도 즐길 수 있도록 시스템을 전면 개방한다.
이에 따라 5월 3일부터 6일까지는 오전 11시부터 오후 8시까지 하루 9차례 다채로운 물줄기와 조명이 어우러진 쇼가 펼쳐질 예정이며, 야간 시간에는 레이저 쇼 등 시각 효과가 추가되어 관광객들의 오감을 만족시킬 것으로 기대된다.
남당항 해양분수공원은 약 6,600㎡ 규모로 국내 최대 수준을 자랑하며, 바닷가를 배경으로 한 이색적인 물놀이 공간으로도 인기를 끌고 있다.
