충남 홍성군이 군 단위에서는 처음으로 여성친화도시 지정을 세 차례 연속으로 달성하는 성과를 거뒀다고 28일 밝혔다.
여성친화도시는 국가 및 지방자치단체가 지역 정책 수립과 발전 과정에 여성의 참여를 확대하고, 성평등 실현과 더불어 돌봄, 안전 강화를 목표로 지원하는 제도다. 여기서 '여성'은 단순히 성별을 뜻하는 것이 아니라 아동, 청소년, 고령자, 장애인 등 다양한 사회적 약자를 포괄하는 개념으로 사용된다.
