김해시는 미래자동차 산업 전환과 신산업 발굴을 위해 한림면 명동일반산업단지에 조성한 ‘미래자동차 버추얼센터’를 29일 개소했다.
미래자동차 버추얼센터는 사업비 192억원(국비 61억, 도비 34억, 시비 97억원)을 들여 지상 3층, 연면적 2,006㎡ 규모에 장비실, 회의실, 사무공간을 갖췄으며 경남테크노파크에서 운영한다. 섀시 부품(현가, 조향, 제동 등)의 디지털 모델 개발과 주행 성능 평가를 위한 첨단 장비 3종을 구축하고 지역 기업에 디지털 트윈 기술을 활용한 제품 성능 검증을 지원한다.
디지털 트윈 기술은 가상 공간에서 실제 차량 모델의 성능을 미리 시뮬레이션하고 이 데이터를 실제 제품과 생산 공정에 연계해 혁신을 이끄는 최신 기술이다. 이를 통해 기업들이 기존의 물리적 제품 개발 방식을 디지털 모델 기반으로 전환하고 시제품 제작 단계에서 가상 주행 성능 평가를 진행할 수 있도록 지원할 계획이다.
