세종시교육청이 4월 29일, 디지털 시대 청소년의 올바른 기기 사용 습관 형성과 자기조절력 지도 역량 강화를 목적으로 교직원 대상 ‘정보통신윤리교육’ 특강을 실시했다.
이번 특강은 세종시교육청 대강당에서 진행됐으며, 빠르게 변화하는 디지털 환경 속에서 교사의 역할을 재정립하고, 청소년의 건강한 성장을 지원하기 위해 마련됐다.
특강 연사로는 서울대학교 사범대학 교육학과 신종호 교수가 초청됐다.
신 교수는 학습력과 문해력 향상 분야에서 활발한 강연과 저술 활동을 펼쳐온 전문가로, 이날 강의에서는 청소년들의 디지털 기기 사용 실태와 그로 인한 인지·정서적 영향을 진단하고, 발달 단계에 맞춘 교육적 접근 방법을 제시했다.
최근 인공지능(AI)과 디지털 기술의 급속한 발전으로 교육 접근성과 학습 기회는 넓어졌지만, 동시에 과도한 디지털 기기 사용으로 인한 주의력 저하, 몰입도 감소 등 부작용도 증가하고 있다.
이에 따라 이번 특강은 단순한 정보 전달을 넘어, 교직원들이 학생 개개인의 디지털 사용 특성을 이해하고, 자기조절력을 기를 수 있도록 지도하는 실천적 방안을 모색하는 데 중점을 뒀다.
최교진 세종시교육감은 “디지털 환경에서 학생 스스로를 조절하고 균형 있게 성장할 수 있도록 이끌어주는 것은 교사의 중요한 역할”이라며 “이번 특강은 그 역할을 수행하는 데 실질적인 도움을 줄 수 있을 것”이라고 밝혔다.
연수에 참여한 한 초등학교 교사는 “변화하는 교육 환경에 따라 교사의 역할도 끊임없이 고민해야 한다는 사실을 다시금 깨달았다”며 “학생들과의 소통 방식에도 긍정적인 변화가 기대된다”고 소감을 전했다.
세종시교육청은 앞으로도 디지털 윤리교육을 포함해 학생들이 건강한 디지털 시민으로 성장할 수 있도록 돕는 다양한 프로그램과 정책을 지속적으로 추진할 계획이다.

Professor Shin Jong-ho of the Department of Education, College of Education, Seoul National University was invited as the special lecturer.
