충남 계룡시는 박미희 룩셈부르크 한인회장이 지난 28일 시 청사를 방문해 국립 군사미래박물관 건립과 관련한 협력 방안을 논의했다고 29일 밝혔다.
이번 방문은 지난해 11월, 이응우 계룡시장이 민선8기 핵심 공약 중 하나인 군사미래박물관 조성을 위한 해외 벤치마킹 차원에서 룩셈부르크를 비롯한 베네룩스 3국을 방문한 것에 대한 답방 차원에서 이뤄졌다.
시에 따르면 박 회장은 당시 이 시장 일행의 룩셈부르크 국립군사박물관 방문을 전폭 지원했으며, 이를 통해 계룡시와 룩셈부르크 국립군사박물관 간 업무협약(MOU) 체결을 성사시키는 데 결정적인 역할을 한 것으로 전해졌다.
박미희 회장은 2011년부터 룩셈부르크 한인회장을 맡고 있으며, 현재 룩셈부르크 참전협회 회장과 유럽한인총연합회 감사로도 활동 중이다. 지난해 11월에는 계룡시 해외홍보대사로 위촉되기도 했다. 박 회장은 오랜 기간 태권도 및 한국문화 확산에 힘써온 공로로 국기원과 외교부, 대통령 표창을 수상한 경력이 있다.
이날 방문은 군사미래박물관 건립을 위한 실질적 협력 방안을 모색하는 한편, 한국전쟁 관련 유물 기증과 문화 교류 등 다양한 대외협력 활동의 폭을 넓히기 위한 취지로 진행됐다.
