이번 협약을 통해 공단은 전력연구원이 개발한 ‘스마트안전솔루션’을 기반으로 처분시설의 산업안전관리 스마트화를 추진할 계획이다.
우선 올해 방사선관리구역 내 작업자의 위험 상황을 자동으로 감지하고 알림을 제공하는 지능형 CCTV 기능을 시범 도입할 예정이다. 장기적으로는 스마트안전솔루션의 다양한 산업안전 관리 기능을 처분시설에 최적화해 단계적으로 구축할 방침이다.
한전의 스마트안전솔루션은 인공지능(AI)과 사물인터넷(IoT) 기술을 결합해 스마트안전장비, 모빌리티게이트웨이, 안전관리솔루션을 통합한 시스템으로, 실시간 위험 감지 및 대응이 가능한 것이 특징이다.
조성돈 한국원자력환경공단 이사장은 “처분시설 내 방사선 안전사고 예방을 위해 전력연구원과 긴밀한 협력을 지속할 것”이라고 밝혔다.
