태안군이 태안군가족센터(센터장 박지연 가족정책과장)를 중심으로 다문화가족 자녀의 안정적인 성장과 학업 능력 향상을 위한 교육비 지원에 나선다.
군에 따르면, 센터는 다문화가족 자녀들이 미래 태안의 지역 인재로 건강하게 성장할 수 있도록 올해 1억 1100만 원의 예산을 투입하는 '다문화가족 자녀 교육활동비 지원 사업'을 추진하고 있다.
이 사업은 교육급여를 지원받지 않는 기준중위소득 100% 이하인 다문화가족의 초·중·고등학생 자녀(2007~2018년생)를 대상으로 한다. 특히 학습권 보호 차원에서 학교 밖 청소년에게도 동등한 기회를 제공한다.
