한덕수 대통령 권한대행 국무총리가 1일 "외교안보부처가 일치단결해 주인의식·책임감을 갖고 오직 국가·국민만을 생각하며 잘 챙겨달라"고 관계부처에 당부했다.
한 권한대행은 이날 오전 서울 종로구 정부서울청사에서 열린 안보관계장관회의에서 "정부는 대미협상을 비롯 새로운 국제질서에 대응하는 과정에서 국익을 최우선으로 놓고 국가안보 앞에 타협 없다는 원칙 하에 차분하고 진지하게 임해 달라"며 이같이 주문했다.
그러면서 최근 북한이 우크라이나전 파병을 처음 공식 인정한 점 등을 언급 후 "북한은 러시아와의 밀착 관계를 가속화하고 우리를 겨냥한 무기체계를 개량하며 새로운 양상 도발을 획책하고 있다"며 "정부·기업·국민은 사이버 공격 위협에 지속 노출되고 있다"고 지적했다.
이어 "이럴 때일수록 철저한 대비 태세를 유지하고, 새로운 위협에 대비하며 우리 국민 생명·재산을 지키는데 한 치 빈틈도 없도록 해달라"며 "군의 사기는 전쟁 승패를 좌우하는 핵심 요소"라고 강조했다.
또 "이런 노력이 만약에 있을지 모르는 비상사태에 우리 안전·승리를 결정하는 요소가 될 것"이라며 "든든한 안보가 나라의 근간이며 우리 경제를 떠받치는 버팀목"이라고 했다.
한 대행은 이날 오후 오는 6·3 대선 출마를 위해 권한대행 직을 내려놓을 것으로 알려진 가운데 사실상 마지막 일정이 될 이 자리에 빈틈없는 안보 대응을 각 관계부처에 주문한 형국이다.
