브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 한덕수 대통령 권한대행 국무총리가 1일 대통령 권한대행 국무총리직을 사퇴한다고 밝혔다.
한덕수 권한대행은 이날 오후 4시 정부서울청사에서 대국민 담화를 통해 "저는 방금 대통령 권한대행 국무총리의 직을 내려놓았다"고 발표했다.
한 대행은 "엄중한 시기 제가 짊어진 책임의 무게를 생각할 때 이러한 결정이 과연 옳고 또 불가피한 것인가 오랫동안 고뇌하고 숙고했다"면서 "이 길 밖에 길이 없다면, 그렇다면 가야 한다고 결정했다"고 말했다.
한편 한 대행은 최근 대선 출마가 임박했다는 보도가 잇따른 가운데, 결국 대선 출마로 마음을 굳힌 것으로 보인다.
한 대행은 우선 무소속 후보로 출마한 뒤, 국민의힘 최종 대선후보와 최종 보수 후보 단일화를 꾀할 것으로 예상된다.
