세종시 전역에 인공지능(AI)과 정보통신기술(ICT)을 접목한 미래형 도시 조성 계획이 본격적인 궤도에 오른다.
세종시와 행정중심복합도시건설청은 ‘행정중심복합도시–세종시 스마트도시계획(2025~2029년)’이 국토교통부로부터 최종 승인을 받았다고 1일 밝혔다.
이로써 향후 5년간 추진될 세종시의 스마트도시 구상이 중앙정부의 문턱을 넘어 실행 단계에 돌입하게 됐다.
이번 스마트도시계획은 세종시와 행복도시 전역을 대상으로 도시 공간에 디지털 기술을 융합해 시민 삶의 질을 높이고, 지속가능한 미래도시로 전환하는 데 초점을 두고 있다.
계획은 총 5대 핵심 목표를 중심으로 구성됐다.
스마트 모빌리티 기반의 ‘첨단 교통도시’, 안전하고 모두가 접근 가능한 ‘포용적 안심도시’, 시민의 삶의 질을 높이는 ‘문화·여가도시’, 친환경 인프라 중심의 ‘지속가능한 생태도시’, AI 기술이 일상에 적용되는 ‘지능화 도시’ 등이다.
이를 실현하기 위해 15개 추진 전략과 20개 스마트 서비스가 마련되며, 지역별 여건과 수요에 맞춘 맞춤형 기술 적용이 이뤄질 예정이다.
세종시는 이번 승인에 따라 스마트도시계획 최종보고회를 열고 계획을 공식 확정한 후, 향후 스마트도시건설사업 실시계획 승인 절차에 들어갈 계획이다.
아울러, 국비 지원을 위한 공모사업에 적극 참여하고, 관련 기관들과의 협업을 강화해 사업 추진에 필요한 재원과 기술적 기반을 꾸준히 확보해 나갈 방침이다.
