홍성군의회 원도심활성화특별위원회(위원장 권영식)는 지난달 28일 전북 군산시의 대표적인 도시재생 사례지인 ‘시간여행마을’을 찾아 현장 시찰을 실시했다고 2일 밝혔다.
이번 방문은 군산의 원도심이 과거 일제강점기의 건축물과 유산을 어떻게 현대적 교육·관광 자원으로 재구성했는지를 직접 살펴보기 위한 것으로, 옛 군산세관, 군산근대역사박물관, 부잔교 등 주요 거점을 중심으로 진행됐다.
위원회는 특히 근대화거리 내에 자리한 청년 창업 스튜디오를 방문해, 젊은 창업자와의 간담회를 통해 지자체 주도의 도시재생사업과 민간 상인의 협업 방식에 대한 현실적인 의견을 나눴다. 소상공인의 참여가 지역활성화의 핵심 동력 중 하나임을 강조하며, 향후 홍성군의 관련 사업에도 이와 같은 상생 전략이 필요하다는 데 공감이 오갔다.
