[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 경남 최대 규모의 장애인 체육 축제인 ‘제28회 경상남도장애인생활체육대회’를 진주종합경기장에서 개막했다고 8일 밝혔다.
이번 대회는 도내 18개 시·군에서 4200여 명의 선수 및 임원이 참가해 29개 종목에서 이틀간의 열전에 돌입했다.
이날 개회식에는 조규일 진주시장을 비롯해 경남도 문화체육국장, 류계현 도의회 부의장, 백승흥 진주시의회 의장 등 인사와 선수단 등 2200여명이 참석했다.
식전 행사는 점프윙스의 공연과 공군교육사령부 의장대 및 군악대의 퍼포먼스, 초청가수 류원정의 축하공연이 펼쳐져 분위기를 뜨겁게 달궜다.
공식행사에서는 진주보건대학교 학생으로 구성된 기수단을 선두로 차기 개최지인 함안군과 창녕군을 비롯한 18개 시·군 선수단이 차례로 입장했다.
이어 진주시장애인체육회 상임부회장의 개회 선언, 조규일 시장의 환영사, 관계 인사들의 축사, 선수·심판 대표 선서, 성화 점화 순으로 개막식이 진행됐다.
행사장 내외부에는 우주항공홍보관, 진주시 관광·농특산물 홍보관, 장애인 보장구 수리관, 찾아가는 VR 스포츠 체험버스 등 다채로운 부대행사도 함께 이뤄졌다.
