브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 더불어민주당과 진보당이 9일 대선후보 단일화에 합의했다. 이에 따라 김재연 진보당 대선후보는 대선 불출마를 선언했다.
더불어민주당·조국혁신당·진보당·사회민주당·기본소득당 등 5개 정당은 이날 진보인사들이 모인 광장대선연합정치시민연대(광장연대)와 기자회견을 갖고, 이재명 후보를 단일후보로 지지한다는 공동 선언문을 발표했다.
김재연 후보는 선언문 낭독에 앞서 "새로운 대한민국을 위해 광장연합의 힘을 통한 압도적인 대선 승리가 필요하다"며 "광장연합 정치의 성공을 위해 모든 것을 던지겠다"고 말했다.
김 후보는 이어 "이재명 후보를 광장 대선후보로 지지하며 저는 대선 예비후보 활동을 마무리하겠다. 어느 자리, 어떤 역할로든 내란 세력에 맞서 사생결단의 각오로 싸우겠다는 광장에서의 약속을 끝까지 지키겠다"고 했다.
5개 정당과 광장연대는 공동 선언문에서 "이번 대선에서 적극적 연대와 협력을 통해 극우내란 세력의 재집권을 저지하고, 국민주권을 수호하기 위해 압도적 승리를 일궈낼 것"이라며 "내란의 완전한 종식과 압도적 정권 교체를 위해 이재명 후보를 광장대선후보로 선정하고 지지를 선언한다"고 강조했다.
또한 계엄사태 관련 의혹에 대한 진상 규명을 위해 조속히 특검을 추진하고, '반헌법적행위 특별조사위원회'를 설치하기로 했으며 윤석열 정부서 재의요구를 받아 폐기된 법안들을 재추진하고, 결선투표제·의원선거 비례성 확대강화·원내교섭단체 기준완화 등 정치개혁을 추진하기로 했다.
아울러 사회대개혁위원회를 출범해 재생에너지·검찰개혁·기업지배구조 개선·노동기본권 등 주요 정책 과제를 협의해 나가기로 했다.
