충남 서산시가 시민의 극단적 선택을 예방하고 정신건강을 증진하기 위해 지역사회 중심의 통합 안전망 구축에 나섯다.
생명 존중 안심마을은 주민과 지역 기관들이 손잡고 위기 상황에 놓인 이웃을 조기에 발견하고 전문적인 지원을 제공하는 생명 안전망을 갖춘 마을을 의미한다. 이는 단순한 복지 사업을 넘어 주민 스스로가 이웃의 생명을 지키는 주체가 되는 과정이다.
올해 서산시는 대산읍, 팔봉면, 해미면, 부춘동, 석남동 등 총 5개 읍면동을 생명 존중 안심마을로 지정하고 운영을 시작한다. 이를 위해 시는 마을 조성에 적극 참여할 지역 기관 및 단체 43개소를 오는 5월 30일까지 공개 모집한다.
모집 대상은 보건의료, 교육, 복지, 지역사회, 공공기관 등 생명 안전망 구축에 핵심적인 역할을 할 수 있는 5개 분야 기관들입니다.
안심마을로 선정된 기관들은 생명 존중 교육 실시 및 인식 개선 캠페인 전개 ,정신건강 고위험군 발굴과 신속한 전문 상담 연계 ,위기 이웃을 돕는 생명지킴이 양성 및 주민 참여 프로그램 운영 등 다양한 활동을 추진하게 된다.
또한, 협력 네트워크에 참여하여 정보와 자원을 공유하고, 정신건강 프로그램 공동 운영 등을 통해 시너지 효과를 창출할 기회도 얻게 된다.
