브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 신동욱 국민의힘 중앙선대위 수석대변인은 14일 "민주당은 결국 사법부에 전쟁을 선포했다. 피고인 이재명을 위한 ‘보복 청문회’, ‘보복 특검’에 나서며 법치를 집어삼키고 있다"고 비판했다.
신 수석대변인은 이날 논평을 통해 "이재명 후보의 공직선거법 위반 사건에 대해 대법원이 유죄 취지로 판결한 이후, 민주당은 청문회를 강행했고, 대법원장이 불출석하자 기다렸다는 듯 ‘조희대 특검법’까지 꺼내들었다"며 이같이 밝혔다.
그는 "판결이 마음에 들지 않으면 재판관을 불러 세우고, 말을 안 들으면 특검으로 겁박하는 작태가 과연 법치이고 정의냐"라며 "청문회 불출석이 특검의 구실이 되고, 그걸 밀어붙이는 자들이 제1야당이라는 현실은 실로 참담하다. 법을 허물고 권력만 세우겠다는 이 행태는 그야말로 '의회 쿠데타'"라고 주장했다.
그는 또 "오로지 정권을 잡기 위해 사법부의 독립을 짓밟고 삼권분립의 원칙까지 허무는 민주당의 폭주는 결국 단 한 사람, 피고인 이재명을 위한 것"이라며 "법 위에 군림하는 자들을 더는 두고볼 수 없으며, 법은 결코 이런 자들에게 굴복해서는 안 된다"고 강조했다.
그러면서 "이재명 한 사람 살리자고 사법부를 죽이고 헌법을 묻으며 민주주의를 불태우는 이 입법 폭주와 정치 테러를 국민이 반드시 끝장내야 한다"고 덧붙였다.
