당진시, 2024 충청남도 지방세정 종합평가 '최우수 기관' 선정 쾌거

당진시(시장 오성환)가 2025년 5월 14일, 충청남도 주관으로 실시된 '2024회계연도 충청남도 지방세정 시군 종합평가'에서 1위를 차지하며 최우수 기관으로 선정되는 영예를 안았다.

충청남도 지방세정 시군 종합평가는 도내 15개 시군을 대상으로 지방세 징수, 체납액 정리, 법인 세무조사, 세외수입 징수, 부실 과세 방지, 지방 세정 운영 등 총 6개 분야 28개 평가지표 전반에 걸친 업무 실적을 종합적으로 평가하는 제도다. 

이 평가는 시군 간 선의의 경쟁을 통해 동기를 부여하고, 이를 통해 안정적인 세수 확보와 지방세정 발전에 기여하고자 매년 실시되고 있다.

이번 평가에서 당진시는 ▲도세 징수율(1위) ▲세입 기여도(공동 1위) ▲고액 체납 징수율(공동 1위) ▲세무조사 추진율(공동 1위) ▲부실 과세 방지(1위) ▲특수시책 추진 등(1위)의 분야에서 탁월한 성과를 거두며 최우수 기관으로 선정되는 기반을 마련했다.

특히, 당진시는 충청남도 지방세정 종합평가에서 2020년과 2023년에 최우수 기관으로, 2021년, 2022년, 그리고 올해 2024년에는 우수 기관으로 선정되는 등 7년 연속 지방세정 우수 기관 자리를 지키며 세정 분야에서의 역량을 다시 한번 입증했다.

오성환 당진시장은 "어려운 경제 여건 속에서도 성실하게 세금을 납부해 주신 시민 여러분의 높은 납세 의식과 지방세 징수를 위해 묵묵히 노력해 온 세무 담당 공무원들의 헌신이 있었기에 최우수 기관으로 선정될 수 있었다"며 감사를 표했다.
