당진시가 '2025년 전국떡경연대회' 개최지로 최종 선정되며, 지역 특산물을 활용한 전통 먹거리 홍보에 나섯다.
당진시는 15일, 이번 경연대회가 충청남도 주최, (사)한국떡류식품가공협회 주관으로 오는 9월 27일 '당진해나루 황토고구마 축제'와 연계하여 개최된다고 밝혔다.
전국떡경연대회는 전통 떡의 현대화, 대중화, 관광 상품화를 목표로 전국 각지의 떡 명인 및 일반 참가자 총 20팀이 실시간 경연을 펼치는 행사다.
특히 이번 대회는 당진시의 대표 특산물인 황토고구마와 해나루쌀을 활용한 대표 떡 개발을 주제로 진행되어, 지역 농산물의 우수성을 알리고 창의적인 떡 개발을 통해 상품성을 높이는 데 중점을 둘 예정이다.
경연 외에도 전통 떡 및 추출 음료 무료 시식·시음, 특별 전시관 운영 등 다채로운 체험형 프로그램이 함께 마련되어, 축제 방문객과 시민들에게 오감 만족형 먹거리 경험을 제공할 계획이다.
당진시는 이번 경연대회를 통해 황토고구마와 해나루쌀을 활용한 떡을 전국에 홍보하고, 이를 통해 지역 농가 소득 증대 및 전통 식문화 계승 기반 마련에 기여할 것으로 기대하고 있다.
