브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 최영해 국민의힘 중앙선대위 대변인은 지난 18일 밤 열린 경제 분야 대선후보 TV 토론과 관련해 "이재명 더불어민주당 후보가 보여준 답변은 과연 집권을 꿈꾸는 대통령으로서 기본 자질을 갖추고 있는지 의문스러운 점이 한둘이 아니었다"고 비판했다.
최 대변인은 이날논평을 통해 "이 후보는 정책 분야에서 시종일관 구체적인 답변을 회피하고 요리조리 피하거나, 말문이 막히면 엉뚱하게도 '극단적이시다'는 동문서답으로 일관하며 무책임한 모습을 보여 국민을 실망케 했다"며 이같이 밝혔다.
그는 "정년 연장과 청년 일자리 문제는 상충되는 측면이 커서 합리적인 해법을 찾기 어려운 정책적 과제인데, 이 후보는 정년을 연장하면서도 청년 일자리도 늘리겠다고 모순된 주장을 했다"며 "이에 대해 '정년을 연장하는데 청년 일자리는 어떻게 늘 수 있느냐'는 상식적인 반문에는 답변 대신 '극단적이시다'고 얼버무렸다"고 했다.
이어 "이 후보가 대만과 중국의 양안 관계를 빗대어 수차례 '대만에도 중국에도 셰셰 하면 된다'고 발언해 논란이 일었지만, 이에 대한 지적에도 다시 '극단적이시다'며 답변을 피하려 했다"고 말했다.
그는 또 "‘대한민국과 북한이 전쟁을 해도 미국이 양쪽에 셰셰하면 되는 것이냐’는 질문에는 ‘극단적이다. 유사시와 국제통상은 다르다’고 했는데, 이처럼 합리적인 질문에 말문이 막히면 ‘극단적이다’는 말로 피해 나가는 모습에 국민은 어리둥절할 수밖에 없었다"고 꼬집었다.
최 대변인은 "이 후보는 임금을 줄이지 않고도 주 4일제 근무가 가능하다고 했지만, 어떻게 가능한지에 대한 구체적 대책은 제시하지 않았다"며 "기업이 독박을 쓰는 것인지, 정부가 민간기업 임금까지 보조한다는 것인지, 그의 답변을 듣고 있으면 물 한 모금 없이 고구마를 10개, 20개 먹는 것처럼 답답할 뿐"이라고 말했다.
그는 아울러 "이 후보의 대표 공약인 AI 100조 원 투자에 대해서도 구체적으로 어디에 얼마나 투자할지에 대한 청사진은커녕, 세부 내용에 대해서는 입을 꾹 다물었다"며 "자신의 공약조차 제대로 이해하고 있는지도 의심스럽다"고 주장했다.
이와함께 "사회·노동정책, 에너지정책, 과학기술정책, 외교정책 등 어제 2시간 동안의 토론을 지켜본 국민이라면 이 후보가 정말 거대 야당의 대통령 후보가 맞는지 귀를 의심했을 것"이라고 말했다.
끝으로 그는 "국민은 TV 토론을 통해 어떤 후보가 대한민국의 미래 청사진을 그릴 수 있을지, 내 삶이 어떻게 달라질지를 고민하는데, 이처럼 알맹이 없는 답변으로는 이 후보의 수권 능력을 의심할 수밖에 없다"며 "누가 과연 국민을 속이지 않고 나라를 이끌 수 있는 제대로 된 후보인지 앞으로의 토론에서 더욱 명백해질 것"이라고 덧붙였다.

He also claimed, "Regarding this candidate's signature pledge to invest 100 trillion won in AI, he did not provide a blueprint for where and how much he would invest, and he kept his mouth shut about the details," and "I doubt he even properly understands his own pledges."
He also said, "Citizens who watched the two-hour debate yesterday on social and labor policies, energy policies, science and technology policies, and foreign policies must have doubted their ears as to whether this candidate was really the presidential candidate of the giant opposition party."
Finally, he said, "Through TV debates, the people are thinking about which candidate will be able to draw a blueprint for the future of the Republic of Korea and how their lives will change.
