충남 청양군이 ‘지역혁신 중심 대학지원체계(RISE) 사업’에 최종 선정되며, 지역대학과의 협력을 통해 지속 가능한 발전 기반을 마련했다.
이번 사업 선정으로 청양군은 총 20억 원의 사업비를 확보하게 됐으며, 지역 인구 문제 해결과 산업 활성화에 대한 실질적인 전기를 마련하게 됐다.
군은 이번 사업을 추진하기 위해 지난 3월 충남도립대학교, 선문대학교와 각각 업무협약(MOU)을 체결하며 협력체계를 다져왔다. 사업 준비 과정에서 지자체와 대학, 지역사회의 긴밀한 논의가 이어졌고, 이 같은 결과로 이어졌다.
이번에 선정된 세부 사업은 ▲충남도립대학교의 ‘청년 정착과 참여를 통한 식음료 분야 플랫폼 구축’ ▲선문대학교의 ‘청년상생 농식품 가공밸리 청양’ 두 가지다.
먼저 충남도립대가 추진할 플랫폼 구축 사업은 청양의 특산품을 활용한 지역 축제와 연계해 청년의 정착과 취·창업 기회를 동시에 확대하는 것이 핵심이다.
단순한 행사를 넘어 지역 문화, 음식, 청년 창업을 결합한 복합형 지역 성장 모델을 만든다는 구상이다. 이를 통해 청년 인구 유입을 촉진하고, 정주 여건을 향상시켜 지역 활력을 높인다는 전략이다.
