충남 보령시가 지난 17일 보령문화예술회관에서 '청소년의 달 기념식 및 청소년 동아리 축제'를 개최했다고 19일 밝혔다.
이날 행사에는 지역 청소년과 학부모 등 약 1,000명이 참석해 청소년들의 꿈과 열정을 함께 나누는 시간을 가졌다.
이번 행사는 세원아청문화육성회가 주관하고 보령시가 주최하여, 청소년의 복지 증진과 건전한 취미 활동을 장려하며 자아발전의 기회를 제공하기 위해 마련됐다.
기념식에서는 학업과 학교생활에서 타의 모범이 된 청소년 18명과 청소년 육성에 기여한 유공자 1명에게 표창이 수여됐다. 이들은 학업 성취도뿐만 아니라 지역사회 참여와 봉사활동 등 다양한 분야에서 두각을 나타낸 것으로 평가받았다.
이어진 청소년 동아리 축제에서는 초대가수 D-HACK(디핵)의 특별공연을 비롯해 대천고등학교 밴드 '까까머리', 대천여자중학교 댄스팀 '볼텍스' 등 총 11개 팀이 무대에 올라 다채로운 공연을 선보였다. 청소년들은 음악과 춤을 통해 자신의 끼와 재능을 마음껏 발휘하며 관객들과 소통했다.
김동일 보령시장은 축사를 통해 "청소년들이 자신의 잠재력을 계발하고 행복한 시기를 보낼 수 있도록 시 차원의 지원을 아끼지 않겠다"며 "스스로의 역량을 키워가며 꿈을 향해 전진하는 멋진 인생의 주인공이 되기를 바란다"고 격려했다.
