브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 손학규 전 바른미래당 대표가 22일 김문수 국민의힘 대선후보에 대해 지지 선언을 했다.
손 전 대표는 이날 서울 여의도 국민의힘 당사에서 "위기의 대한민국을 구하려면 김문수 밖에 없다"며 지지를 공식화했다.
그는 "저는 솔직하게 말해서 김문수 후보 이전에 한덕수 전 총리를 지지했다"며 "미국 트럼프가 집권해 관세폭탄으로 통상위기를 누가 관리해야하나 걱정했고, 한 전 총리가 개헌을 위해 대통령을 3년만 하겠다고 해서 반했었다"고 말했다.
이어 "여러 과정과 말썽이 있었지만 어쨌든 단일화 과정에서 김문수가 승리했다"며 "대단한 사람이다. 놀라운 집권의지가 있고 추진력도 있다"고 김 후보를 치켜세웠다.
손 전 대표는 또한 "김 후보가 단일후보로 확정되고 전화가 와서 선대위원장을 맡아달라고 했지만 거절했었다"며 "한쪽엔 김 후보에 대한 탐탁지 않은 감정이 남겨져 있었다. 하지만 이제 대선이 얼마 남지 않았고 나라를 위해 어떻게 도울지 고민하다 이제 나가서 돕자고 어젯밤에 결정했다"고 말했다.
그러면서 "우리나라는 세계 최빈국에서 10대 경제 강국으로 발전했지만 지금은 낭떠러지로 떨어지고 있다"며 "이번 대선은 위기의 대한민국을 살릴 지도자를 뽑는 선거다. 대한민국을 살릴 수 있는 사람 바로 김문수 뿐"이라고 했다.
손 전 대표는 다만 "저는 백의종군을 할 거기 때문에 어떤 직책도 맡지 않을 것"이라며 "한 사람의 시민으로 또 한 사람의 전직 정치인으로 또 한사람의 애국자로 사명감을 갖고 맨몸으로 뛰겠다"고 했다.
손 전 대표는 아울러 이재명 더불어민주당 대선후보에 대해선 "어떻게 국회에서 대법원장에 대한 탄핵을 이야기하고 청문회, 특검을 하겠다고 하느냐"며 "이재명 후보는 법을 바꿔 앞으로 면소판결을 받겠다는 건데 대통령에 당선되면 재판정치를 하겠다는 것"이라고 비판했다.
그는 "오죽하면 법관들이 법원 대표자 회의를 소집해놓고 그 의제를 재판의 독립으로 하겠느냐"며 "재판의 결과를 갖고 책임을 묻는 건 안 된다. 그거 때문에 제도와 법을 바꾸는 것도 안 된다. 이재명이 대통령되면 행정부, 입법부는 물론이고 사법부까지 아래다 놓겠다는 것"이라고 지적했다.
