민주당 체육위원회 세종시위원회 100인이 22일 이재명 대선 후보 지지를 선언했다.
세종시위원회는 이날 오후 세종갑선거연락소에서‘대한민국의 건강’과 ‘스포츠 공정’을 실현하기 위해 이재명 후보를 지지한다고 밝혔다.
지지 선언에는 강신성 민주당 중앙선대위 잘사니즘위원회 체육위원회 공동위원장을 비롯 김종걸 수석선대위원장, 장재근 수석부위원장, 전영관 수석선대본부장, 이강진 세종갑선대위 상임선대위원장, 안신일 세종시의원, 이영주 체육위원회 세종시특별자치시위원회 위원장 등 약 25명이 참석했다.
서명인은 100명에 달하지만 선거법상 참석 인원은 축소해 진행됐다.
세종시 족구협회 윤성일 회장을 비롯한 위원회 일동은 지지선언문을 통해 “민생회복과 성장이라는 시대적 과제를 앞두고 있는 중요한 시점에서 진짜 체육인으로서 책임지는 정치인을 만들어야 한다”라며 “땀의 소중함을 아는 진짜 정치인으로서 이재명 후보는 과거와 미래의 체육인들을 포용하며 차이를 존중하고 차별을 해소하는 대통령이 될 것으로 믿는다”고 강조했다.
이날 지지선언과 함께 체육중·고등학교 설립, (가칭)종합스포츠타운 건립, 전국대회 유치용 파크골프장과 수영장 건립 등 세종시 체육분야 현안에 대해 의견을 나누고 현장의 목소리를 경청하는 정책 간담회도 이어졌다.
이 자리에서 강신성 공동위원장은 “체육에서도 균형 발전을 위해 많은 노력이 필요하고 인프라 구축 등 지원이 필요하다”며, “오늘 의견을 나눈 좋은 제안들을 정책에 반영할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
이강진 선대위원장은 “대선 승리를 통해 엘리트 체육과 생활 체육을 아우를 수 있는 종합스포츠타운 건립과 체육계의 발전을 위해 깊은 관심과 노력을 기울이겠다”고 강조했다.
