이주호 대통령 권한대행 부총리 겸 교육부 장관이 23일 "중소벤처기업부 중심으로 어려움을 겪고 계신 중소기업·소상공인 경영 부담 경감을 위한 맞춤형 지원을 강화해 나가겠다"고 밝혔다.
이주호 권한대행은 이날 오전 서울 영등포구 중소기업중앙회에서 개최된 '2025 대한민국 중소기업인대회'에 참석해 이같이 말했다.
그러면서 "지금 대한민국이 마주한 대내외적 환경은 풀어야 할 여러 난제들로 녹록치 않은 상황"이라며 "세계 주요 각국은 보호무역주의를 강화하고 있고, 무역 질서·글로벌 공급망 재편으로 세계 경제가 새 도전에 직면하고 있다"고 지적했다.
또 "저출산·고령화로 인한 사회구조적 문제·양극화 심화·사회 곳곳에 내제된 갈등이 우리 공동체 결속을 흔들고 있다"며 "최근 글로벌 통상 환경 불확실성에 대응카 위해 정부는 '원팀' 체제로 통상 협의에 만전을 기하고 있고, 관세 피해·수출입 리스크에 대해서도 적극 대응하고 있다"고 전했다.
이어 "이번 추경 역시 신속 집행해 민생경제에 온기를 불어넣는 데 총력을 다하겠다"며 "정부는 우리 기업이 기술·창의성을 바탕으로 글로벌 시장을 선도할 수 있도록 지원하는 든든한 동반자가 되겠다"고 했다.
더불어 "중소기업인 여러분들은 대한민국 경제 기둥으로서 일자리 창출 주역·대한민국 성장을 뒷받침하는 원동력"이라며 "중소기업이 우리 경제 희망이고 대한민국 힘"이라고 덧붙였다.
