한일 지방도시 간의 우정이 스포츠를 매개로 더욱 단단해지고 있다. 충남 보령시가 일본 자매도시인 후지사와시와 체육·문화 교류의 접점을 넓히며 국제적 연대를 이어가고 있다.
지난 22일, 단장인 미야지 다다시 미래창조재단 이사장을 비롯한 후지사와시 대표단이 보령시를 찾아 ‘제22회 보령머드임해마라톤대회’에 참가하고, 양 도시 간 교류 확대를 위한 다양한 일정을 소화 중이다.
이번 방문은 3박 4일 일정으로, 단순한 체육 행사 참가를 넘어 실질적인 교류협력 강화를 목적으로 하고 있다.
23일에는 보령시청을 공식 방문해 환영 간담회에 참석하고, 보령시의 정책과 현황에 대한 설명을 들었다. 이어 보령시의회를 찾아 양측 의정 활동에 대한 경험을 공유하며 협력 방안을 논의하는 시간도 가졌다.
