[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시가 경남도, 사천시와 공동 주최한 ‘2025 국제 우주산업 콘퍼런스’가 26일 서울 그랜드 하얏트에서 개최됐다.
이번 행사는 제1회 우주항공의 날을 기념해 열렸으며, 국내외 우주산업 관계자 250여명이 참석해 최신 정책과 기술을 공유하고 협력 방안을 논의했다.
이날 행사에서는 NASA JPL 전인수 박사의 기조강연을 비롯해 한국 우주항공청(KASA)과 해외 6개국의 산업 현황 발표가 있었다.
또 이날 한국항공우주산업(KAI), 한화에어로스페이스 등 국내 기업과 해외 우주기업들도 기술 사례도 소개했다.
조규일 진주시장은 “진주시는 초소형 인공위성 ‘JINJUSat-1B’ 발사로 전국 최초 성과를 달성했다”며“우주항공청과 연계한 서부경남의 산업 거점화를 위해 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
한편 진주시는 지난 2022년 위성특화지구로 지정됐으며, 오는 2028년 완공 목표로 우주환경시험시설을 구축 중이다.
