도서출판 메이킹북스는 최소영 작가의 첫 에세이 ‘열세 살 내 딸은 난소암입니다’를 출간했다고 27일 밝혔다.
최소영 작가는 초중고 학생들에게 국어와 독서와 글쓰기를 가르치는 국어논술학원의 원장이다.
그녀는 오십이 넘어 블로그에 글을 올리면서 진정한 자신을 찾기 시작했다.
지금은 인스타그램과 X와 스레드로 확장하여 1 만5 천 명의 구독자를 보유하고 있다.

이번에 출간한 ‘열세 살 내 딸은 난소암입니다’는 그녀의 자전적 에세이다.
7년 전 갑자기 중 1 열세 살이던 둘째 딸 은교가 난소암 판정을 받았다.
청천벽력 같은 소식이었다.
은교는 전신 마취 후 6시간의 대수술을 했다.
이 책은 그 후 치유 과정과 완치판정을 받을 때까지 아픈 아이를 바라보는 엄마의 심정을 담아냈다.

북콘서트도 높은뜻우신교회등 두 번에 걸쳐 진행했다.
북콘서트에서 최소영 작가는 “ 책을 내기까지 대략 일 년의 시간이 걸렸다. 그 과정에서 아픔의 기억을 소환하는 일과 작가로서의 무게와 체력적으로 버거웠다. 출간은 출산과 유사한 것 같다. 지금은 해산의 기쁨을 맛 보고 있다.”고 밝혔다.
