충남 청양군이 지역 산업기반 확충을 위한 일반산업단지 조성사업에 다시 속도를 낸다.
군은 오는 30일 비봉면 신원리 마을회관에서 주민설명회를 열고, 본격적인 보상 절차 개시를 앞두고 토지 소유주와 지역 주민들에게 사업 추진 계획을 안내할 예정이다.
청양 일반산단은 2023년 12월 산업단지 계획 승인을 받으며 행정적 절차를 마무리했지만, 이후 경기 침체와 외부 자금 조달의 어려움으로 사업 추진에 다소 차질을 빚어왔다. 군은 이에 대응해 입지 여건 보완, 기반 시설 계획 재정비, 관계기관과의 지속적 협의를 통해 재추진 기반을 다져왔다.
군은 이번 산업단지 조성을 ‘미래 성장 동력 확보를 위한 핵심 사업’이자, 기업 유치와 일자리 창출을 동시에 꾀할 수 있는 전략적 기회로 판단하고 최근까지 사업 시행자 및 관련 기관 간의 프로젝트 파이낸싱(PF) 문제 해결을 위해 적극적으로 노력해왔다.
이번 설명회에서는 보상 기준과 절차, 향후 일정 등을 중심으로 투명한 안내가 이뤄질 예정이며, 지역 주민들의 이해와 협조를 구하는 자리로 마련된다.
보상 절차가 시작되면 산업단지 조성은 본 궤도에 오를 것으로 전망된다. 이후 단계적으로 토지 보상, 부지 조성, 기반 시설 공사 등이 추진되며, 산업체 유치 등 후속 절차도 계획에 따라 진행될 방침이다.
노현욱 청양군 투자유치과장은 “경제적 여건이 녹록지 않은 상황에서도 끝까지 협조해 주신 지역 주민 여러분께 감사드린다”며 “청양의 미래 산업 인프라 기반이 될 이번 사업을 차질 없이 추진해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
