대전시사회서비스원(원장 김인식) 소속 선화하나어린이집(원장 유지혜)은 5일 ‘세계 환경의 날’을 맞아 유아들과 함께하는 ‘선화하나 쓰리고(Three Go) 친환경 캠페인’을 전개했다.
이번 캠페인은 어린이들이 지역사회의 일원으로서 환경 보호의 중요성을 체험을 통해 배울 수 있도록 기획된 프로그램으로, '지구를 생각한 만들기', '함께하는 지역사회 실천', '걷고 줍는 지구사랑' 등 세 가지 실천 활동으로 구성됐다.
첫 번째 활동인 ‘지구를 생각한 만들기’에서는 천연 재료를 활용한 지구 모양의 수제 비누를 직접 만들어보며, 환경 친화적인 생활용품에 대해 배우는 시간을 가졌다. 또한 일상 속에서 플라스틱 대신 친환경 수세미와 대나무 칫솔을 사용하는 방법을 익히며 자원 절약과 대체재 사용의 중요성도 함께 체험했다.
두 번째와 세 번째 활동인 ‘함께하는 지역사회 실천’과 ‘걷고 줍는 지구사랑’은 대전 중구 선화동에 위치한 양지근린공원에서 진행됐다. 원생들은 환경 보호 메시지를 담은 포스터를 전시하고, 공원 일대를 돌며 쓰레기를 줍는 정화 활동도 병행했다.
유지혜 원장은 “어릴 때부터 환경을 생각하고 행동하는 습관을 기르는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다”며 “앞으로도 지역사회와 함께하는 다양한 환경 교육 프로그램을 지속적으로 운영해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
