충남 서천군보건소는 지난 4일 지역 내 자살 예방 역량을 높이고 생명존중 문화 정착을 위한 자살예방위원회 회의를 열고 유관기관 간 협력 방안을 심도 있게 논의했다.
이날 회의는 보건소를 포함해 경찰서, 소방서, 교육청 등 15개 유관기관 실무자들이 한자리에 모여, 지역사회의 정신건강 증진과 자살 예방을 위한 실질적인 공동 대응 방안을 모색하는 자리로 마련됐다.
회의에서는 '서천군 자살률 및 위험요인 분석', '2025년 추진 예정인 신규사업 소개', '기존 자살예방사업의 주요 추진 경과 보고', '사업 활성화를 위한 기관별 의견수렴' 등이 차례로 진행됐다. 특히 기관별로 제안한 실무적 의견을 바탕으로 실질적인 자살 예방 대응력 향상과 민·관 협력 강화 방안들이 중점적으로 논의됐다.
군은 자살예방위원회를 중심으로 여러 유관기관이 참여하는 지역 기반의 협력체계를 한층 강화하고 있으며, 이를 통해 위기 상황에 대한 선제적 대응은 물론, 생명존중 문화를 지역사회 전반에 확산시키기 위한 제도적 기반을 공고히 하겠다는 방침이다.
구영희 서천군보건소 정신보건팀장은 “자살예방위원회를 중심으로 민·관이 함께 협력해, 누구나 안심하고 살아갈 수 있는 안전한 지역사회를 만들겠다”며 “군민의 생명을 최우선 가치로 삼아 자살예방망을 지속적으로 확대해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
