대전 동대전도서관(관장 변옥진)이 어린이들에게 책과 자연의 만남을 선물한다. 도서관은 6월 2일부터 30일까지 어린이자료실 내 북큐레이션 코너에서 ‘초록을 담다’를 주제로 한 도서 전시를 진행한다고 밝혔다.
이번 북큐레이션은 숲과 식물, 산 등 자연을 소재로 한 아동 도서 12권을 엄선해 구성됐다. 무더위가 시작되는 계절, 아이들이 책을 통해 자연의 싱그러움을 느끼며 정서적으로 안정되고 상상력을 키울 수 있도록 돕겠다는 취지다.
전시되는 책들은 자연과 사람의 관계를 쉽고 따뜻하게 풀어낸 그림책과 이야기책 위주로 꾸려졌다. 아이들은 책장을 넘기며 푸르른 초록빛 자연을 간접적으로 체험하고, 일상 속에서 자연에 대한 감수성을 키울 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

동대전도서관은 계절 변화에 맞춘 주제 선정과 아동 발달 특성을 고려한 큐레이션 기획을 통해 어린이들이 독서에 흥미를 갖고 도서관을 친숙한 공간으로 인식할 수 있도록 다양한 노력을 기울이고 있다.
변옥진 동대전도서관장은 “아이들이 책을 친구처럼 여기고 자연스럽게 독서에 흥미를 느낄 수 있도록 앞으로도 유익하고 재미있는 큐레이션 프로그램을 꾸준히 운영할 예정”이라고 전했다.
